Penguin Teachers’ Academy Workshop #2

DrSusanSusie_250x200Our second Penguin Teachers’ Academy workshop, focussing on innovative ways to choose books for and conduct classroom novel study –  featuring Dr. Susan La Marca, was a great success.

There was plenty of discussion on the Australian Curriculum and the best ways to choose books, engage students, utilise ICT in innovative ways and assess student responses and teachers and librarians from across Victoria were happy to have a day to collaborate, share, learn and reflect.

Head of Library Services at Genazzano FCJ College (amongst many other things) Susan is an excellent and inspiring speaker and shared a wealth of resources from her own library and her years of teaching and developing unique novel study programs.

@PenguinTeachers was tweet sharing throughout the day and the Storify of this workshop can be found HERE.

Attendees were also asked to share the novels they are currently using with various secondary year levels and we have compiled a handy PDF for you to download and use. The PDF can be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Stay tuned to this space for the Term 1, 2013 program, to be uploaded very soon. We are very excited about the workshops we have planned to share with you all.
