Penguin Teachers’ Academy now on Newsstand

We are delighted to announce that Penguin Teachers Academy will now be delivering our teaching notes, units of work and our quarterly magazine – Off The Shelf, through Newsstand, available for free download in the Apple iTunes store.

The Penguin Teachers’ Academy Newsstand App provides rich and engaging resources for teachers, librarians and educators, including the quarterly magazine Off The Shelf.

This app will be installed in the Newsstand folder on your iPad. It delivers every new edition Off The Shelf free of charge, and gives you access to topical teaching resources and units of work for use with primary and secondary school students.

The units of work, designed by Penguin Teachers’ Academy, include extensive teaching notes, ideas for lesson plans, classroom discussions and class activities. Each unit focuses on a single text, and is planned according to the requirements of the Australian Curriculum. Some units of work are provided free; premium units are available for purchase within the app.

App features:
• Free – every edition of Off The Shelf, the quarterly magazine for teachers and librarians.
• Free – exclusive teaching notes and units of work, containing teaching notes, lesson plans and class activities – all tailored to the Australian Curriculum.
• In-app purchase option for premium units of work.

      Hi Cathy,

Our teaching notes and units of work will still be available from our Puffin and Penguin websites as they have always been. Off The Shelf has moved to Newsstand permanently as we find it is a better home to host our magazine.

      Thanks for your comment 🙂
